SMAA Saturday Record Breaking Action

 

 

SMAA: BE, Cheverus, Gorham, Noble, Portland

The Bonny Eagle girls ripped a new state leader in the girls 4x800 with a 10:10.76. Kiera Murray of Cheverus ran the #2 2 mile in Class A with a strong last 800m, Murray's time was 11:39.36

On the boys side sophomore Jake Dixon clocked 24.45 to break the Jr 200m record. Tyson Goodale of Bonny Eagle clocked an SMAA & Class A leading 8.19 in the 55m hurdles, he added the #2 Long jump as well 20-9. Cheveru's Michael Orne equalled the state lead in the high jump with a 6-2 clearance

  • Shot Put - Nice toss of 43-3 for Brad Kritzer of Cheverus High School for the victory, which is his best throw of the season

 

SMAA: Biddeford-Deering-McAuley-TA

Charlotte Pierce of Thornton Academy ran the Class A leader for 2 Miles 11:26.09. In the Shot Put Ashley Belanger of Biddeford took over the state lead with a 34-5 toss.

Andrew Smith of Thornton Academy had a record breaking night. First Smith broke his own Jr 55m dash record clocking a 6.91, then in the long jump he smashed the old record of 19-8 1/2 by over a foot with a state leading mark of 20-9 1/2. In the shot put Deering's Jared Bell improved his state leading mark to 53-3 1/2. There were also other big marks in the shot with David LapPauloe of Thornton throwing the #2 mark in the state 49-1 1/2 and his teammate Cody Meserve throwng 47-2.

  • Jr Long Jump -Andrew Smith of Thornton Academy hit the sand at 20-9.5 to win (new season best mark). The mark shattered the SMAA Jr record and is a state leader

 

 

SMAA:Massabesic-Scarborough-SP-Westbrook-Windham

South Portland's Nyajock Pan ran the #3 800m in the state with a 2:29.49 clocking. Lauren Magnuson won the Jr 55m, Jr 400m, Jr Long Jump, & anchored the winning Jr 4x200 Relay.

On the boys side Scarborough's Jerry Kenney broke the few hour old Jr 200m record of Jake Dixon running a solo 24.39 to take .06 off the record. In the 4x800 Scarborough behind a 2:02 leg from Robby Hall lowered the state leading mark to 8:34.74.
