SMAA Highlights- Stags rip 4x200m state leader

 

 

SMAA: Biddeford-Cheverus-Deering-Gorham-Massabesic

Cheverus Boys 4x200m smashed the SMAA open record with one of the fastest time ever in state history as they clocked 1:33.60, the mark is a new state leader. Biddeford's James Ociti ran 51.20 in the 400m to lower his personal best indoors, the time is a state leading performance. He aslo also added wins in the 55m (6.85) & the Long jump (20-1). James Campbell a member ofthe 4x200, also won the 60yd 1:19.01, and the 200m 23.50, both marks are SMAA leading. Travis Grant of Gorham won the Sr triple jump with a Class A #2 jump of 41-11.

Ashley Belanger of Biddeford threw 36-2 in the shot put for a new state leader. Deering's Edie Pallozzi won the 600yd (1:35.16) then won the Sr 400m in 62.50. Anne Slattery of Cheverus won the 200m in 27.62 and also added a 9.18 win the 55m hurdles. The hurdles time is 6th fastest in Class A this season.

SMAA: McAuley-Portland-Westbrook-Windham

Brittany Arsenault of Westbrook won the Jr 200m (28.51) & added a victory in the Jr 55m (7.86.).  Windham's Morgan Richmond won the Sr 55m (7.96) & Sr. 200m (28.50)

Liam Sullivan of Windham was a double winner, taking the 55m (7.03) & long jump (18-10.25)

Scarborough's Open 4x200m relay clocked a Class A leading 1:50.47 over Thornton Academy's Class A #2 1:51.07. Avery Pietras of Scarborough ran a Class A #4 in the 200m 27.28. Charlotte Pierce of TA had a great double with a win in the 600yd (1:33.10) then had a thrilling 800m victory in 2:21.29 to 2:21.59 over Nyajock Pan of South Portland. The 800m times were Class #2 & #3 marks. Carly McKenna of TA was a double winner in the 55m hurdles (9.43) & Sr HJ (5-2).

Tyson Goodale of Bonny Eagle won the Sr. 55m Hurdles (8.23) & the Sr long jump 19-6. TA's Derek Boissionault took the Jr 55m (7.02) & the Jr 200m (25.18). Alec James of Scarborough increased his Class A lead in the pole vault with a personal best 13-3 clearance. Ethan Beaulier of Noble won the 55m (6.75) & crossed first in the 400m 52.31. Noble ran a state #2 time in the 4x200 1:34.50 in a come from behind win over Scarborough 1:34.57
