Caribou/Bangor Christian Boys & MDI/Orono Girls win PVC Titles Derek Veilleux Oct 17, 2009

(Pictured above Bangor Christian Boys winners of the Class C PVC team title via a 6th man tie breaker over Orono) Gabe Stewart (John Bapst) won the Class B PVC individual title running 16:16.9 over the 5k course at Saxl Park in Bangor,  Ben Chapman  (Ellsworth) was the runner-up 16:50. In the small school Class C race Matt Guiod (Mattanawcook) was the winner 17:04.9 with a narrow victory over Alex Bulteel (Orono) 17:07.3   On the girls side it was Old Town's Dacie Manion winning the large school girls race in 19:39.3, she bested the runner-up Alecia Palmer (Presque Isle) 19:50.1. In the Class C race, sophomore Faith Mackay (Searsport) crossed the finish line first 20:30.6 ahead of runner-up Nelly Winship (Bucksport) 21:01.5   Teamwise on the boys side in Class B #10 ranked Caribou was victorious over Ellsworth (36-49). In Class C the meet was adead heat between Bangor Christian and Orono at 49, but going to the 6th man tie-breaker gave the trophy to Bangor Christian, in what I believe to be their first PVC title. On the girls side in Class B, #11 ranked MDI showed they are ready for the big meets by taking care of  #3 ranked John Bapst (50-67).
