Meet Information




Central- Maine Freshman Track Championship
Tuesday, June 1, 2010, 3:30 p.m. at Bowdoin College, Whittier
Field, Pine Street, Brunswick.

To compete in this meet, each school must have its insurance
provider send Bowdoin College a Proof of Liability Insurance naming
Bowdoin College as an additional- insured. Please see the memo from
Lynn Ruddy, Associate Bowdoin Athletic Director. Bonny Eagle,
Brunswick, Cheverus, FreeporL, Portland, Scarborough, Thornton
Academy and Westbrook are on already on file for 2010.

Commemorative shirts will be available at the meet. The shirts are
separate from meet administration, but will provide a donation to
the meet if profitable.


Note entry instructions! Each event is given a unique number.
Place the number of the event on the upper line to the right of
each athlete's name, and his/her performance in that event on the
line under the number. This facilitates computer entry.
If you use Team Manager, please e-mail your entries in that format.
Mail your entries to arrive on or before Friday, May 28, 2010 to

You may try scanning the entry form and e-maiI it to
wdwatson@suscom-maine.net. If you do this, please call Mr. WaLson
to confirm that it has arrived. If you e-mail the entry form, give
the original to Mr. Watson at the meet.

No post entries. Entries received on Tuesday, June 2, are out of
luck. Rain date is Wednesday, June 2. In case of bad weather, the
decision to postpone the meet will- be made at 1-2:00 p.m. on
Tuesday, June 1, by Dave Watson. If in doubt, call 443-6171. You
may e-mail Mr. Watson at wdwatson@suscom-maine.net. If we have a
postponement, We may have to time the old fashioned way, as the
rest of the week is committed for the automatic timing machines.
This meet is under continuing sanction by the MPA as part of the
Central Maine Junior High School- Track Championship program.


The league fee schedule is $35.00 for one team (boys or girls)
entered, and $50.00 for two teams (boys and girls) entered. You
may send the league fee with the entry form, or send it to Steve
Ross, CMFTC Secretary, 152 Deering Ridge Road, East Waterboro,
Maine 04030, telephone 207-247-2049, or hand carry it with you
and give it to Mr. Ross. Make League Fee payable to CMFTC.
For Teams which have fewer than six individuals entered, the fee is
$5.00 for each individual entered. A school entry form (enclosed)
is required.

The facility is provided at a very favorable rate, which depends
upon it being as clean aft.er the meet as before. Members of each
team must pick up any trash before leaving the site. Help us stay
at, Bowdoin.

The starting height For girls pole vault will be 5 feet., and 7 feet
for boys. The pole vaults will be run concurrently, i.e. when the
girls get to 7 feet any boys who wish to start at that height will
vault with the remaining girIs. The high jump will also be run
concurrently, starting at 4 feet for girls, and 5 feet for boys.
Each school is required to run one field event, and provide the
officials and assume the expense, if any, and a measuring device to
run the event. Since there are about twice as many schools as
there are field events, schools will be doubled up to facilitate
efficiency. Knowledgeable parents and high school juniors and
seniors are acceptable as officials A form has been provided for
you to list your chief official and event officiating preference
on. The meet director will attempt to contact the athletic
dIrector to confirm the event each school will be responsible for.
Please have your athletes come changed up. Toilets will be
available. Proper behavior is the responsibility of the
representatives of the participating schools.

The playing of stereos, tape decks or other noise makers will be
prohibited during the meet. The throwing of footballs, Frisbees, and
other distracting devices will be prohibited during the meet.

There will be no practicing after the conclusion of a field event.
Each team is responsible for picking up trash in its staging area.

Note: Only scratches will be accepted on the day of the meet.
No event changes or additions to events will be accepted.

Note: Bowdoin College requires that all schools sending athletes

Directors, business managers and principals are very familiar with
this process. Students from schools which have not met this
requirement, will- be denied participation.
