Mt Ararat claims boys/girls class race @ Morse Derek Veilleux Sep 30, 2010

At Morse Middle School XC course, there was a KVAC meet between Mt. Ararat, Brunswick & the host Morse on a 1.9 mile on the course . The meet was split into four races 9th &10th grade boys, 9th & 10th Girls, 11th & 12th Boys, 11th & 12th Girls.  In Boys Underclassman race, MTA Freshman Nate Mckenzie lead the entire race finishing very strong with a 10:30. He was only challenged by Morse's #1 and Freshman Jake Demosthenes of MTA. MTA won that race with 25 points. On the girls side of the underclassman race the pace was set by Sophmore Lauren Mcnett, who despite a strong race was out kicked by Brunswick's Theresa Murhpy. In the Boys Upperclassman race it was a duel Meet between Brunswick and MTA. Morse only has one upperclassman who is unfortunately injured. Brunswick took it easy in order to save their legs for FOC and MTA was able to sweep it taking places 1-7. Andy Riefman-Packett lead followed closely by Jacob LeTourneau until the last .2 miles to storm the course with a 9:52. On the girls side Katie McMahon (pictured above) decided to assert her dominance and pushed the pace finishing with a 11:11. MTA won the meet on the girls side as well lead by Junior Emilia McGrath.
