The MVC Championship meet will be held Saturday at the University of Maine at Augusta. The Boys team race should be a good match-up between the defending Class C state champions & MVC Champions looking for a repeat, while they will face a stiff challenge from Monmouth Academy. The Boothbay boys added their 3rd straight MVC title, while St. Dominic claimed the girls title at the MVC Championship meet held at UMA this afternoon. In the boys race Chase Brown (Boothbay) handed Madison's Matt McClintock his first loss of the season, as he pulled away over the last 600m to win in a fast 16:22 to McClintock's 16:32, Telstar freshman Josef Holt-Andrews was third. Boothbay had 3 in the top 9, to edge Monmouth by just 4 points for the boys team title. Monmouth has 3 of the top 8 finishers. In the girls race Boothbay's Sophia Thayer, just a freshman, claimed the individual title running 21:23 over the 5k course, she was 46 seconds better than runner-up Anna Doyle. St. Dom's first runner was 11th, but a tight pack for #2-#4 runners was enough to get by Winthrop 3 points 41-44. RESULTS
