The Bangor Ram girls & the Hampden Academy Broncos boys showed off their depth winning the PVC-Black Bear Relays. Bangor won a total of 6 events highlighted by the meet record & new state leader in the 4x200m Relay, 1:51.89. There were also individual events run, Teal Jackson (Brewer) set a new record in the 55m dash 7.67. Other impressive marks were the 5-2 HJ by Jen Daley (John Bapst), Grace Maclean (Bangor) 16-2 in the LJ, Shelby Wheeler (Orono) 9-9 in the pole vault. On the boys side, Hampden won 5 events on their way to scoring 112 to outdistance runner-up Old Town by 36 points. Individually Jake Leithiser (Old Town) jumped 20-4 in the long jump & added a 6-0 clearance in the HJ, while Tristan Wortman (Brewer) had a strong afternoon having the top vault (12-6), top TJ (38-7) & 2nd (LJ) 19-8 1/4.
