It was a great 2012-2013 in both cross country and track across the Great State of Maine. Many of our seniors will soon be on their way to start their college careers both athletically and academically so we wanted to salute them one more time in this special feature.
Former XC blogger Erzsebet Nagy of Lawrence not only excelled on the track but in the classroom, and just like the track where she was champion she was the valedictorian of her class at Lawrence HS. She wanted to share her speech with the MaineTrackXC audience, and the speech certainly can be related to the sport of track and field. Make sure you take to time to read it!
The Lawrence girls won their first ever KVAC Class A title, as the Bulldogs scored 127 to outdistance Edward Little 104. On the boys side Edward Little made it 10 conference titles in a row as they fought on a valiant effort from Lawrence who finished just 4.5 points of the Red Eddies. Check out more.
Good news, bad news? Or old news, surprising news? First, the former: The Edward Little boys' track and field team is favored to win the KVAC outdoor championship Monday for the 10th consecutive year. And while the Eddies were forced to share that title with the rival Lewiston Blue ... (via Sun Journal)

The Maine Running Company Outdoor Track Performance of the Week voting is complete for week #3. On the girls side distance standout Erzsebet Nagy of Lawrence was the winner, while Waterville's Nick Margitza was selected on the boys side.

The Lawrence girls & the Maranacook boys won KVAC meets @ Lawrence this afternoon. The 2 mile was the top event in the girls meet with 3 ladies under 12 minutes with newcomer Erzsebet Nagy (Lawrence) running 11:42.62 win over Brittany Bowman (CH) 11:49.30, & Abby Mace (Maranacook) 11:59.60. For Mace this was her first meet of the season after battling a knee injury this spring. On the boys side Evan Vincent (Maranacook) lowered his state leader in the 1600m RW to 6:48.58.
