Mt Desert Island has ruled Class B girls xc for the last 2 years, and the bad news for the rest of the competition is they have the whole team back from a year as they go for a 3 peat. The Trojans will also get Nora Hubbell back this fall making them even more of a threat. According to 5k times from 2012, MDI is scheduled to have their entire top 5 in the top 10!
Camden Hills was the state runner-up a year ago, they return another strong squad that returns as the #2 team. The team will be led by individual title threat Brittany Bowman
The Greely Rangers have won the most Class B state titles of any team, the Rangers return this fall with the strongest team they have had in many years. In fact they return the top 7 runners from a 4 place finish a year ago. They are led by the individual favorite Kristen Sandreuter.
Yarmouth HS comes in as the 4th best returning team from 2012 5k times. The Clippers finished 6th a year ago have a strong 1-2 punch in the Teare sisters.
Rounding out the top 5 is another WMC team, Freeport . Freeport comes in with 138 just 1 back of cross town foe Yarmouth.
