Class C boys should have a very competitive year as their are a handful of team in the mix. Based on returning 5k times from 2012, Boothbay is the top returning team but not much seperates them from the chase pack,
Boothbay returns 102 points from a team that finished 6th a year ago, they have a 1-5 average for 5k of 18:48.25. Leading the way will be Benn Scully & Robert Campbell, who are both capable of top 10 individual finishes.
Monmouth Academy returns with 103 points which is just 1 bethind Boothbay. Monmouth finished one place behind Boothbay at last year's state meet in 7th place. Coming back Monmouth has a 1-5 average of 18:48.95
Orono returns in the 3rd spot with 120 points. The Red Riots were the state runner-ups a year ago and return a squad with a 1-5 split of 1:04.
The defending state champions Hall-Dale sit in 4th place with 122 returning points. They have a strong 1-2 punch in James McAuliffe & Chris Pomerleau with a team avergae of 18:55.
Rounding out the top 5 returning teams is North Yarmouth Academy. NYA has 146 points coming back, they are led by a top individual runner Matt Malcolm
This field is wide open in 2013, certainly the addition of a top freshman would aid anyone of these teams in their quest for a state title.
