My summer training has been going great. I took a short break from running after the outdoor season and I'm back to running, feeling more motivated than ever

What are your goals for the upcoming season?:

My goals for the upcoming season is to get my time down to low 16, and win states as a team. My personal goals for this season are to continue improving as the season progresses and to remain healthy and injury free. As a team I would like to defend both our KVAC and Regional titles from last year and take a shot at the state title. I believe we have the team to do it, just need to work on our 4-5 runners.

How long have you been running and how did you get started?:

I started running my sophomore year. I was going to soccer tryouts but I was an hour late. The cross country practice and the soccer tryouts were at the same place. Before I reach the soccer field I saw one of my friends Mohamed Mohamed on the way and told me I should try XC and that’s how I started. I loved from our first practice and I’ve been running ever since.

Will you be competing anywhere out of state this season?:

No. My team is only planning on going to the New England Championship if we qualify.

What is the toughest course to run in Maine?:

My favorite cross country race so far was the 2012 Regional meet. It was rainy day and the course was full of water /muddy. I was able to overcome the weather and finish 2nd behind Sam wood. I was thrilled as I crossed the finish line and turned around to find two of my teammates cross moments behind me.
