Greely's Kirstin Sandreuter open her senior season in impressive fashion as she ran the 6th fastest time on her home course at Twin Brook in Cumberland. Twin Brook is the site of the 2013 MPA State Championships where Sandreuter is the heavy favorite to win the Class B state title, it would be her first individual xc title. Kirstin time shows her fitness is in mid season form as the course has been the host of some big meets over the years, inlcuding the NE Championships just last year. The fans agreed her run was the most impressive as she garnered 23 votes overall, good for 60% of the vote.
Senior Dan Curts of Ellsworth started off his 2013 campaign with a fine 15:43 clocking for three miles on his home course to win the Ellsworth Invitational. The wining time in 2013 was 22 seconds faster than his win a year ago in the same meet. Dan the defending Class B champion showed he's ready for an even faster 2013 xc season. He also lead his team to an impressive victory at Ellsworth as the Eagles tallied just 17 points. It was a close vote between Dan and Ryan Cadorette, but in the end Curts ended up with 35% of the vote to edge out Cadorette.
Congratulations to both Kirstin & Dan on being selected as the Maine Running Company Performance of the Week
