MRC Performance of the Week: Teresa Murphy & Dan Curts

Brunswick HS senior Teresa Murphy had a personal best run of 19:47 to win her final race on her home course last week. Murphy's time was 30 seconds up on the second place finish of her teammate Tessa Cassidy. The win was Murphy's first of 2013, she considered a top 5 contender for the Class A title. Murphy was chosen in the closest vote of the season as she edged Kirstin Sandreuter of Greely by a tally of 17-16.

Ellsworth's Dan Curts took his shot at history at the Manchester Invitational last weekend as he cahsed the 15:17 course record of Ben True. Curts came up just short of a record, but as a consolation he took the win in the small school race for the second year in a row, and clocked the fastest time of the meet with his 15:23 effort. The 15:23 clocking at Manchester was #2 AT on the Derryfield Park layout. Dan will aim for the Festival of Champions CR this weekend as he is expected to duel with Josef Holt-Andrews again.

Congratulations to both Teresa & Dan on being selected as the Maine Running Company Performance of the Week
