2013-14 Indoor Track Event Previews: Mile
Bangor's Angelyn Masters had a big indoor state meet last winter that saw her finish at the state runner-up in the Mile, those 8 points proved to be critical in helping her team to the team title. Masters time of 5:16.27 was a huge personal best. She'll be one looking to move up that one spot to the top of the podium
Bonny Eagle's Kialeigh Marston had a great freshman campaign in 2013, she finished 5th in the state meet. Then went on to run a 5:05.48 in the freshman race at New Balance Indoor Nationals. Her time makes her the fastest returner in the field, she ran xc this fall for the first time, winning the state title, the xc base should only help her run even faster this winter.
Brunswick's Tiffany Tanner ran 5:33.50 as a freshman last winter good for 6th in the state meet.
The other returner scorer is Mary Szatkowski of Bonny Eagle who nabbed the last stop of the podium last year. Her best time was a 5:30.48
800m champion Edie Pallozzi could be a 1600m podium threat if she runs the race, a year ago the Class A state record holder in the 800m, ran a 5:19.20
Cheverus's Kiera Murray is another top runner to keep an eye on, Murray ran a best of 5:26.02 a year ago.

Class B
4 of the 7 state meet scorers from a year ago are back, but gone is state record holder Bethanie Brown opening up that top spot on the podium
Greely standout senior Kirstin Sandreuter is one that will have her eyes on the prize, Sandreuter was the runner-up last winter. Kirstin ran a best of 5:13.15, she lowered her 1600m personal best outdoors to 5:05.21. She is coming off a teremendous xc season that saw her win the Class B title, 4th in New Englands, and 10th in the Footlocker Northeast race, which qualified her for the National Championship.
Ellsworth's Aleta Looker is another title threat, the senior has outstanding 800m speed. Looker was 3rd in the mile last year, her best effort was a 5:18.43
Oceanside's Jackie Thorbjornson of Oceanside was 5th last winter, she suffered a knee injured this fall in field hockey, so most likely won't be ready to compete.
York's Heather Evans was on the podium in 7th last year, Evans had a best effort of 5:24.63 in 2013.
