Boys Results | Girls Results

The Thornton Academy girls started the meet off with 17 important points in the long jump, aided by the state record jump by Tori Daigle, 18-0 1/4. The Trojans would get another win from Daigle in the 55m hurdles as she took down top seed Synclaire Tasker to win with a personal best 8.50. TA was also helped by a runner-up finish in the shot put by Kaeleigh Harrison, 34-8. Senior Kaitlin Hilton jumped a personal best 9-0 to finish 4th in the pole vault, while Amanda Arnold was third in the hurdles.

Cheverus was the surprise runner-up team. The Stags got individual wins from seniors Meredith Willard in the 55m, 7.50 & Kiera Murray in the 2 mile, 11:20.18. They also got 8 more points from Willard in the 200m. The relays were key for Cheverus as both the 4x800 & 4x200 finished second.

Synclaire Tasker scored 26 individual points the most of any athlete in the meet. Tasker was the 200m champion, running 26.99. She was the runner-up on the 55m hurdles & the triple jump

Bonny Eagle's Kialeigh Marston used her superior speed to kick her way to win in the mile, 5:12.62 as she held off Edie Pallozzi of Deering, she came back to win the 800m holding of Tiffany Tanner of Brunswick, 2:22.12 to 2:23.50.

The year after missing the indoor season because of an ACL tear, Tiffany Gray of Bangor won the triple jump with a state leading 37-0, she was the runner-up in the long jump with a 17-10 leap. Gray actually broke the state meet record in the event, but it last all of one jump as Daigle broke it on her next jump.

Sophia Swiatek of Gorham turned disappointment from the pole vault into jubilation in the shot put as Swiatek stunned the field with a personal best 34-4 3/4 throw to win the title. Swiatek entered the shot as the 9th seed.

Messalonskee's Amanda Knight finished second in the 55m, 7.52 but had a hamstring issue that prevented her from running in the 400m & 200m

On the boys side the Red Storm of Scarborough cruised to their 4th straight state title as they amassed 91.33 points. Scarborough got individual wins from senior Mike Pino in the shot put, 50-9, and Jacob Terry in the 2 mile, 10:03.72. Scarborough took both the 4x200 relay, 1:34.46 & the 4x800 relay 8:27.0.

Scarborough showed quality and depth as they had individuals entered in 12 events, and scored in all 12 events on the day. The Red Storm victory was a true team effort as they got individual points from 12 different athletes, and got point contributions from 15 of the 17 athletes that competed.

Other standouts performance from Scarborough came from Cam Langlois, runner-up in the 55m hurdles 8.09. They also got third place performances from Hugh McSorley in the shot put, Sam Rusak in the pole vault, Jerry Kenney in the 400m & Colin Jones in the 800m.

Cheverus & South Portland tied for the runner-up trophy as the Red Riots edged Cheverus by .01 in the 4x200 to make it a tie. Cheverus got a victory from Isaac Yeboah in the 55m hurdles, 7.91 & Jake Dixon in the 200m, 23.08. Dixon nabbed an impressive second in the 400m, 50.45, and Yeboah added a second in the 200m. Junior thrower Nick White had a personal best 49-9 in the shot put to finish second, while high jumper Jacob Schott cleared 6-0 for the runner-up finish.

South Portland did something that has never been done before in a state meet, as the Red Riots scored 48 points in the long & triple jump via a 1-2-3 finish in both events. In the long jump senior Duncan Preston led the way with 21-1 effort. Ben Michaud was the runner-up 20-3.5 while Michael Cuesta 20-2 1/2 was third.  In the triple jump, Michael Cuesta saved his best jump for this last as he smashed he's previous personal best and increased his wining margin with a huge 45-4 leap. Preston 42-9 3/4 was the runner-up while Michaud was 3rd 41-8 1/2.

Biddeford senior James Ociti was a double winner as he took the 55m, 6.75 and added a 50.38 win in the 400m.
