No. 5 Kate Hall wins 2 events at New England's, sets 3 Maine all-time best marks

Kate Hall put on a show in her final meet in the state at the New England Championship at Thornton Academy. The greatest female sprinter/jumper in state history opened her competition with her specialty the long jump.

She wasted little time in giving the fans something to ooh and ahh about as she leaped out to 20-0 1/4 jump that shattered the meet record of 19-3 1/2 despite being behind the board. Her second jump was even better as she got out to an all-time Maine best 20-11, shattering her own meet and state record.

After the long jump it was off to the 100m dash trials where Hall claimed the fastest time overall with her 11.50 effort. Hall saved her best for the finals though as she powered her way to her fastest all conditions time of 11.41. Unfortunately because the lack of a wind gauge her time wouldn't count for a meet record. This was Kate's second New England 100m title, her previous win came as a sophomore, she missed the meet last year because of the National meet being on the same day.

Kate's final race was the 200m, and it was the one of the best of the meet as she powered off the turn slightly in front of Quashira McIntosh heading down the homestretch. While Hall was unable to hold off the hard charging McIntosh, she did clock her fastest ever 200m 23.69, breaking her own Maine all-time best mark once again finishing as the runner-up.
