Way Back Wednesday: Teal Jackson Sets State Record In 400m
Brewer senior Teal Jackson will go down as one of the best sprinters in state history. Jackson recorded personal bests of 12.20 (100m), 200m (25.21) & 57.0 (400m), long jump (17-5 1/4) outdoors, indoors she clocked 7.26 (55m), 200m (25.61) & 400m (57.85).
Today's Way Back Wednesday race video spotlights Jackson's 400m at the 2013 outdoor state meet. On her home track the senior raced her way to Class A title, state record, personal best and state meet record of 57.0 in the 400m. Jackson was pushed the whole way by Bonny Eagle standout Audrey Weyand who was the runner-up in a fine 57.75. The state meet record for Teal erased the then 19 year old record mark set by all-time great Cuyler Goodwin of Mt Ararat. Jackson held the state record for just one year before Kaitlin Saulter of Hermon ran 56.95 in 2014 in Class B state meet.
