We took a look at the projected top returning cross country individuals in Class A based on generated from last year's season-best times. Below you will find every the fastest time for every boy's returner in Class for 2020.
Senior Ben Greene of Falmouth is the top returning scorer from the state meet a year ago. Greene ran to a fourth-place finish clocking 16:22.38. On the season Greene ran a personal best time of 15:47.79 at the Hoka Southern Maine Classic in his first-ever high school xc race. Ben would go on to finish 37th at the New England championship meet.
Right behind Greene at the 2019 Class A state meet was Dan McCarthy of Bangor. A rising junior, McCarthy finished fifth at states last fall and has the fastest returning personal best over 5k of 15:41.72, which he ran at the Festival of Champions. He had a huge run at the New England Championship where he finished 15th running 16:14.
