How has COVID-19 affected you?

Covid 19 has affected me by canceling my spring track season and switching my third trimester to online learning. I have been able to keep up with a regular training schedule with some extra strength training and even did some time trials during the spring. I am thankful that I have been able to say relatively healthy during this time and am excited about the next racing opportunity, whenever that may be!

What has your summer training consisted of? How much mileage are you putting in?

My summer training has consisted of adding more mileage than I ever had before alongside my teammates and friends Emmaline Pendleton and Hannah Stevens!

What is your favorite workout that makes you feel most prepared for success?

My favorite workout that makes me feel prepared for success is either hills or pacing workouts such as 1k repeats. Those workouts give me confidence that I can run at my goal pace.

What did you learn from the last xc season that will help you improve in 2020?

A lesson I learned last xc season was that bad races don't define me as a runner as I learned how to bounce back from them.

How is your team looking for the fall?

My team has been looking very strong this year, we have been having zoom practices with many of us in attendance. We hope to be even better than we have in the past but we know there are a lot of great teams out there as well.

How do you stay motivated when you don't want to run?

I don't usually have many days where I don't want to run, but if I do feel unmotivated I think of my team and what we want to accomplish in the future!

"It's a beautiful day to run"

What are the top three "little things" that you do to prevent injury?

To prevent injury, I roll before and after my runs, warm-up before each run, and stretch really well after.

What is the one thing you have done during COVID-19 that you have never had time for in the past?

Because of the extra time during Covid-19, my family and I were able to hike Mt. Katahdin, which is something we have always wanted to do but had never had the time.

What's the farthest you've ever run at one time?

The furthest I've ever run is 13.1 miles, which I did this summer.
