Indoor Nationals: Schmader runs 49.54 for 400m

Bonny Eagle senior Jacob Schmader kicked off the action at the TRACK at New Balance with a new personal best 49.54 for 400m. Schamder's time placed him ninth overall in the Rising Stars section. The time moves him into a tie for the third best in state history

In the Championship 400m James Cognata of Winthrop finished in 50.39 to finish fifth in section and 71st overall.

Anna Connors of Bangor went out hard in her 400m covering the first lap in 25.54, and held on to win section 13 in 56.78. The time is a seasonal best for Connors and improves on her previous state leading mark of 57.28.

In the Championship 2 mile New England champion Adam Bendetson of Scarborough went through the mile in a speedy 4:32.72, he would run his second best time of the season a 9:17.99 one of the top times in state history to finish 11th in section six and 53rd overall.

Aidan Lee of Gorham has himself a day in the high jump as he cleared a state leading 6-4 1/4 to place fourth in the Rising Stars competition. Lee who had a best of six feet entering the meet, cleared personal bests of 6-1 1/4 and 6-2 1/4 on his first attempts. He would clear 6-3 1/4 on his third, before clearing another PR of 6-4 1/4 on his third attempt.

Falmouth clocked 3:44.21 in the 1600m sprint medley as they placed 51st.

Nike Indoor Results

Kicking things off in New York Class A champion Addy Thibodeau of Bonny Eagle toured the Armory for 16 laps in the 2 mile. Addy ran just of her seasonal best with a 11:30.55 to place 20th.

Class A 4x200 champions Scarborough ran a strong 1:48.78 a seasonal best despite not having Caroline Fallona on anchor due to illness. The Red Storm placed 25th.

Scarborough returned to the track for the 1600m Sprint Medley where they clocked 4:20.64, the third fastest time in state history, and just .56 seconds of the record.
