5/1 - 5/6 Highlights

Boys - Scarborough senior Adam Bendetson set a new state leader in the 3200m with a 9:29.86 effort on Monday. On Thursday Ethan Kane a senior from Bonny Eagle set the top mark in the 300m hurdles in his first race of the season with a 41.61. Rowan McDonald of Bonny Eagle lowered his state leader in the 1600m walk with his first sub 7 effort of 6:49.42. Senior Charlie Collins of Hampden Academy set a new state leading mark in the 800m with a 1:57.63 clocking while Miles Burr of MDI lowered his state lead in the 200m to 21.95 with a new personal best. In the high jump Gavin Davis of York cleared 6-3 for a new leading mark. Brewer junior Colby Largay took over the Class A lead in the shot put with personal best 49-11 throw.

Girls - Samantha Moore a sophomore from Portland clocked a state leading 2:23.42 in the 800m on Thursday. Bonny Eagle junior Addy Thibodeau set a Class A leader for 3200m with a 11:28.35 effort while Abby Williams of Waterville set the fastest in Class B at 12:04.05. Oxford Hills senior Serria Carson threw 116-5 in the javelin to take over the Class A lead on Thursday. In the 300m hurdle Morse junior Caroline Thelen clocked 50.48 for a new Class B leader. Bangor senior Anna Connors ran the second fastest time of her HS career 56.09 to take over the state lead, she also ran a leg on Bangor's 4x400 (4:20.02). York junior Cary Drake had a great meet setting state leading marks at 1600 (5:01), and 800 (2:16.80). NYA's Sarah Moore soared over 5-6 for a new state leader in the high jump while Brewer's Karessa Anderson improved her state leading mark in the discus out to 119-3.
