Several athletes from Maine traveled to White Plains, New York this weekend for the 55th Glenn Loucks Games. Bonny Eagle Julia Pendleton didn't wait long to make an impact as the sophomore leaped out to a personal best 17-7 1/4 on her first effort to post the mark to beat. After sixty-nine jumps from the rest of the field that mark stood above the rest giving Pendleton to victory. In her series she had two other jumps seventeen feet or better. At least years Class A state meet she finished 10th in the long jump but after Friday she know leads Class A and has the second best jump in the state. She would also clock 12.85 in the 100m placing her 17th.
In the 1600m sprint medley, Mt Ararat set a new state record with their 3:36.87 effort which placed them 11th. The event is not often run outdoors in Maine but the time erased three plus second off the old record set back in 1999.

In the boys 400m Jacob Schmader of Bonny Eagle had a strong performance with his outdoor personal best 50.34 which placed him 19th but more importantly is the best 400m in the state in 2023. Finishing closely behind him in heat six was Mt. Ararat junior Aidan Greenleaf who ran a new personal best of 50.69 which placed him 30th, and has him ranked third in Class A.
The boys mile had two of Maine's best in seniors Charlie Collins of Hampden Academy and Henry Horne of Freeport. Collins ran a personal best 4:17.23 to edge Horne 4:17.84 by two places. The times are for the full mile distance which is longer than the 1600m run in Maine in the spring, those times convert to 4:15.74, and 4:16.34 which would be the two fastest in the state in 2023. Other Maine athletes competing in the mile where Noble junior Maddox Jordan of Noble m(4:24.30 - 32nd) and senior Parker Libby of Mt. Ararat (4:31.99 - 41st).
On Friday in the 800m, Collins set a new Class A leading mark of 1:57.07 to finish 21st.

In the girls 3200m junior Addy Thibodeau of Bonny Eagle ran a 11:17.03 to finish 20th, the time was just off her personal best and moves her to the top of Class A with the effort. Thibodeau would join her teammates to clock the fastest 4x800 in the state on Saturday as the Scots ran 10:08.25 to place 15th.
In the boys long jump Elliot Timblin of Mt Ararat jumped 20-9 1/4 to finish 17th while in the triple jump Ethan Palmer jumped a personal best 42-4 to finish 7th overall with Timblin leaping 41-9 1/2 for 9th.
