The fields are set for the Fleet Feet Elite 1600m races at the St. Joseph's College Monks Last Chance Invite on Saturday in Standish. Distance runners from around the state will compete in the elite 1600m races. The standards for entry into the fields was 4:45 for the boys, and 5:45 for the girls.
Girls Field
Cary Drake (York) - Drake, a junior is the current state leader in the event, and the only one in the field that has broken 5 minute in the mile 4:59.11 (indoors). Drake likes to take it out fast and will be aiming for her first sub 5 effort during the outdoor season. She has run 5:01 twice this outdoor season for 1600, and a 5:04 in the mile at Penn Relays. Cary also has the fastest 800m in the field with her 2:16.80 effort from this spring.
Laurel Driscoll (Scarborough) - Driscoll just a freshman has burst onto the distance scene this year. Currently she ranks fifth best in the state in the event with an effort of 5:14.12.
Shealyn Brochu (Morse) - Brochu has great range, the sophomore is the defending Class B 400m champion but has shown strength in the longer races this outdoor season. Brochu has a best of 5:15.72 in her only 1600m of the season, and has run 2:24.99 for 800m, and 61.13 for 400m this spring.
Addy Thibodeau (Bonny Eagle) - Thibodeau a junior currently ranks ninth statewide in the event with a 5:23.59 effort this spring. She's run faster indoors for the mile, and is coming off a strong Class A leading 11:17.03 for 3200m at the Loucks Games.
Annabelle Brooks (Cheverus) - Brooks ranks 10th best in the state with a 5:23.61 best this spring. She is coming off an 800m personal best from Wednesday of 2:26.41 which indicates she's ready to run much faster this weekend.

Kyleigh Record (Scarborough) - 5:34.80 - 19th in state and 11th in Class A
Lucy Huggett (Freeport) - 5:37.10 - 21st in state and 7th in Class B
Lilah Hall (Freeport) 5:37.72 - 22nd in state and 8th in Class B
Gwen Catalano (Bonny Eagle) 5:38.48 - 29th in state
Bella Koepsell (Falmouth) 5:40.0 - Hasn't run a 1600m
Marina Violette (Bonny Eagle) 5:40.77 - 28th in state
Siena Scordino (Camden Hills) 5:44.43 - 33rd in state
Henry Horne (Freeport) - Horne is the favorite in the field after running a mile personal best at the Loucks Games last weekend in 4:17.84 which converts to a 4:16.34. Horne ranks second in the state currently and is the defending Class B champion in the event. He has already run 1:58.50 for 800m this spring as well.
Adam Bendetson (Scarborough) - A senior who is the current state leader for 3200 (9:20.57) has a best of 4:33.64 this spring. Indoors he clocked 4:21.95 for the mile. He is coming off an outdoor personal best of 2:04.15 in the 800m on Wednesday.
Kaleb Colson (Sumner)- Colson could be the spoiler in this field, as the junior ranks fourth statewide and tops in Class C with a 4:28.98. The defending Class C outdoor 800/1600m champion is coming off a huge 800m personal best of 1:54.81, the 11th fastest effort in state history last week. He has a mile PR of 4:26.91 from indoors.
Bryan Stark-Chessa (Cheverus) - Stark-Chessa has yet to run a 1600m this spring but has run 10:15.18 for the 3200m. Last year Stark-Chessa ran 4:26.53 for 1600 for 5th in the Class A state meet.
Carter Libby (Gray New-Gloucester) - Libby a junior ranks sixth best state-wide in the event, and second in Class B. He is coming off a 9:53.91 personal best for 3200m, and has a 4:30.80 under his belt for 1600m this spring.
