Fill out Salute to Seniors Form

When and how did you get into track and field?

I needed a winter and spring sport to do and didn't like the other options.

Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

Definitely Conor Morin.

What was your greatest accomplishment?

10 state wins in three years and back to back, all three jump wins at states.

How has track and field impacted your life?

It's been a big part of my life since middle school, it's helped me meet a lot of new people and see things I probably would never have seen.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

Definitely, the urge to quit. Most of my junior year was pretty rough and after indoor I really didn't want to continue.

How do you prepare for competitions?

The day before I'll go out hang out with friends go fishing and relax the night before and the day of I'll just relax on the bus and play games on my phone with my teammates and not think about the meet.

What influence has your coach had on your high school career?

Rod and Andy and been coaching me since summer track, they've had the biggest influence and support on me than anyone. Rods always tells me to keep my head up when something goes wrong and Andy's always there never missing one of my meets or events no matter how far away they are so for that thank you, guys.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of track and field?

Fishing and working on my truck and stuff. I'll spend hours out on the lake in my kayak fishing or travel hours to try a spot.

What are your college plans?

I'm heading to USM to continue jumping for them.

What are your long-term goals?

Hopefully just better myself all around.

Who would you like to say thank you to?

Rod, Andy, and Sully. The three of you have known and helped me since day one.

What advice would you give to younger athletes?

Trust the process, it sucks it really does but you got to trust yourself because the outcome after busting your butt pays off and you'll love it. It's not always gonna go the way you plan, you're gonna get upset, angry, and cry but those moments are things you'll learn from. After all the training and learning you'll get an outcome that you'll love and be able to be happy with.
