2023 Outlook

Mt. Blue was one of the youngest teams in the state meet in 2022. The Cougars put it all together for a fourth-place finish in the Class A state meet with a lineup that consisted of two freshmen, a sophomore, and a junior in the top five. Leading the way for Mt. Blue is junior Henri McCourt who finished 10th in the state meet a year ago. He ran 10:07.69 for 3200m outdoors finishing 14th in the state meet. Ben Hatch and Luke Doscinski ad solid freshman campaigns that saw them place 43rd and 44th at the state meet to finish as the fourth and fifth-best freshmen in Class A. Hatch ran outdoors clocking 10:34.45 for 3200m to place 22nd at the state meet. All other returners for Mt. Blue only run cross-country so there is some aspect of the unknown with them not competing the rest of the year. The Cougars will have six new freshmen join the program who will look to make an impact like Hatch and Doscinski a year ago.

Coach Kelly Cullenberg Comments

Summer training has gone very well. Our returning veterans have been able to put in more base mileage this summer in hopes to set themselves up to have an even more successful season this fall. A number of them attended the Acadian Running Camp and are excited for the season to start.

Our goals are to stay healthy, continue to challenge ourselves mentally and physically and improve upon last year's individual performances as well as collective team performances.
