2023 Outlook
The Wildcats have been one of the top programs in the state year over year. After a runner-up finish in the Class B state meet, and qualifying for the New England Championship in 2022, York looks to be even better in 2023. With six runners back from the runner-up squad including the entire top five the Wildcats are loaded for another state title run. Junior Aidan Ring was the top harrier in 2022, he finished 8th in the state meet, outdoors he placed fourth in the 3200m (10:08.53). Add in track standout Landon Morrison who will be running xc for the first time this fall. Morrison clocked 4:33.71 for 1600m and 10:13.86 for 3200m this spring, and should make an immediate impact. Look for the Wildcats to be one of the best teams in the state regardless of class this fall and one of the favorites for the top spot in Class B.
Coach Ted Hutch's Comments
The top right returning veterans ran 200 miles or better this summer. York is training for the state meet in 11 weeks. It's a tough mountain to climb when you compete in Class B with the likes of Freeport and Greely plus others.
