Getting to Know Molly

How has your summer training gone? Approximately how many miles have you logged?

The beginning of the summer was a bit difficult for consistent training because I was traveling, but recently I am logging 30-35 miles a week. 6 days a week with three effort days and three moderate days.

What are you looking forward to during the 2023 XC season?

I am so excited to share my senior season with my amazing team. The effort and passion that we put into our workouts and runs show in our races, and I am so excited to watch my teammates succeed. I'm looking forward to working towards another state title and putting in the work this whole season! Our team dinners and team beach runs are always a highlight of the season and we make so many lifelong memories together. The bond that our team has built and that grows stronger each year is so incredibly special. I am so excited to finish my senior season strong surrounded by my loving and talented teammates.

What are your goals for the season?

I hope to help the team to another state title, we work hard and stay motivated during the season. I would love to get a new PR and achieve that by giving it my all during our workouts. I hope to make my senior season a memorable one full of happy memories and a successful season.

The biggest takeaway from the 2022 XC Season?

My biggest takeaway is that when you really want something and know working hard will help you achieve it, nothing will stop you. My team knew the state title was in our grasp, and we encouraged and supported each other in our running journey. The support of a team is a huge part of what gives us success.

How do you stay motivated when you don't want to go for a run?

I think about the feeling at the end of my run. Even if I don't want to run, I know that the proud feeling at the end and the benefit for my team in the long run will make it worth it. I also live by the beach, and the dip in the ocean at the end of a run makes it all worth it!

Twin Brook at Greely or the Belfast course. The Greely course has beautiful scenery and Belfast is great for its quick times.

Gogo squeeze applesauce!
