Laverdiere enters is junior season with a chance to make a statement on the trails. After a strong sophomore season that saw him finish sixth in Class B, he is back after logging some big miles this summer. Sam is back at Lake Region after a stint at St. Dominic Academy this past winter and spring. On the track, he was third in the Class B two-mile during the indoor season. Laverdiere ran to the Class C 3200m title outdoors clocking a personal best of 9:43.20. He also dropped his 1600m time down to 4:29.15. He dropped a sub 16-minute 5k on the track this summer. Watch out for Sam to contend for the Class B title, and be one of the top runners regardless of class this fall.

How has your summer training gone? Approximately how many miles have you logged?
I've been having my best training block yet this summer with me building up to 70 miles a week so far and incorporating doubles and triples on certain days.
