Lemieux had a strong junior season that saw him finish fourth in the Class A state meet breaking 17 minutes for the first time on a tough Twin Brook course. He was one of the most improved at states moving from 54th as a sophomore up fifty spots in one year. During the indoor track season, he clocked 9:40.79 for 2 miles and was the Class A runner-up. Outdoors he ran 4:33.83 for 1600m, while running 9:40.91 for 3200m. He finished third in the A state meet in the 3200m. Xavier has started off his 2023 season strong with a runner-up finish at the Bonny Eagle Relays and a victory at Falmouth this week. He has the talent to contend for the individual state title this fall.
Getting to Know Xavier
How has your summer training gone? Approximately how many miles have you logged?
Summer training was rocky because I got hurt mid-summer but I still managed to put in around 209 miles.
What are you looking forward to during the 2023 XC season?
I'm looking forward to a competitive senior season and plenty of big meets where I will have the opportunity to run against some great guys.
What are your goals for the season?
I've got some big goals but I'll most likely develop new ones as the season goes on. I definitely would like to run some really great times and hopefully help put my team in contention for a state title.
The biggest takeaway from the 2022 XC Season?
Running smart is more important than running hard.
How do you stay motivated when you don't want to go for a run?
I think about my goals and tell myself that putting in the work is what will lead me to accomplish them.

What brand of shoe do you train in?
Usually stick to my Brooks ghosts but sometimes will throw on the Nike Pegasus 38's for faster runs.
