Defending Class B state champion Sam Laverdiere of Lake Region is back in 2024, he'll be looking to make it two in a row. Laverdiere was the only runner to crack the 16-minute barrier last fall. Nine harriers are back that ran under the 17-minute mark this past fall. There is a solid group of Alex Gilbert, William Coull, and Aidan Ring that will look to close the gap in 2024.
Freeport is the top returning team as the three-time champions will look to win their fourth state team title in a row. Greely, Mt. Desert Island, and John Bapst all have solid teams coming back and will be chasing down the defending champions.
