The Ellsworth Invitational marked one of the season's first major cross-country meets, drawing 23 teams and 110 girls to the starting line. The race highlighted several athletes who showed major progress from their 2024 performances-an early sign of exciting things to come this fall.
Caribou junior Elizabeth Robbins led the way as the meet's most improved runner, cutting an incredible 6:41 from her time on the 2.84-mile course. Houlton/GHCA's Andrea Ross followed with a 3:49 improvement, while GSA's Annabelle Kneisel wasn't far behind, dropping 3:35.
