Girls Distance: Top Times Per Year 2009-Current

With the 2025-26 indoor season now complete, it provides a perfect opportunity to reflect on how girls' distance performances have evolved over the past decade and a half. By examining the top times in each event from 2009 through 2026, a clear picture emerges of how the standard has shifted over time.

Unlike the boys' side, where many of the fastest marks have come in recent years, the girls' top performances in the 800 and mile date back to the 2013-2014 timeframe, underscoring just how strong that era was. More recently, however, the 2-mile record has been reset, with a standout performance of 10:28.43 established just two years ago by Teanne Ewings. The 4x800 relay has also seen a new benchmark, as Falmouth delivered the fastest time in recent history last season with a 9:39.12 effort.
