Note: Athletes who have been nominated in the past two weeks are not eligible. Previous winners are excluded for the rest of the season.
This Week's Nominees:
Ethan Walsh, Fort Fairfield (Maine): Cleared 6-8 to win the high jump at Old Town Meet #1, taking the event by a comfortable margin in a field of 12 competitors.
Jake Bassi, Bangor High School (Maine): Won the shot put at Brewer Meet #1 with a throw of 53-8.75, beating a field of 56 competitors.
Bossay Ditanduka, South Portland High School (Maine): Ran a state-leading 22.01 to win the 200 at Bonny Eagle Home Meet 1, beating the previous state leader Drew Gervais (22.31). Also placed second in the 100 with 10.96 and won the long jump at 22-1.
Jaiden Hebert, Lawrence High School (Maine): Threw 157-9 to win the discus at Lawrence High School Home Track Meet, the top sophomore mark in Maine this season.
Drew Gervais, Bonny Eagle High School (Maine): Clocked 10.94 to win the 100 at Bonny Eagle Home Meet 1, edging state rival Bossay Ditanduka (10.96), and leads Maine in the 200 this season. The top-ranked junior in both sprint events statewide.
