Bonny Eagle Boys & Scarborough Girls win Southwestern Titles

The Bonny Eagle boys behind 28 points from jumper/hurdler Tyson Goodale dispatched the rest of the competition in the SMAA to win the Southwesterns title. Bonny Eagle amassed 99 points, while Cheverus behind 30 points from distance ace Jack Terwilliger was the runner-up with 86 & Gorham 81.5 rounded out the top 3. On the girls side the Red Storm repeated as champions tallying 98 points to hold off a strong challenge from Cheverus (86) & Bonny Eagle (84.5). Scarborough was led by sprinter Nicole Kirk who won the 100m & 200m, breaking the meet record & setting a new state leader in 200m with a 25.58. other highlights included Abbey Leonardi smashing the meet record in the 3200m by 36+ seconds, clocking 10:27.36, the #2 ALL-TIME performance in the event behind her record run last spring.
