Hey guys!

It is now 1/25/2012 and it has been a long time since my last blog entry. There ARE a couple reasons for that :P.  I went to the Dartmouth Relays, and then I had midterms and then I went to the Harvard Relays so I've been pretty Really the last couple of weeks. The last couple of weeks have been very successful though. At Dartmouth, our sprint medley team (Ryan Smith, Will Hirnak, and Colton Burne and I)  qualified for the Emerging Elite Indoor National meet with 3:42.5. Our 800m runner Will Hirnak ended up running a 2:00 800m which was absolutely amazing! I didn't do as well as I wanted to in the 55m, and the kid that ran 6.54 was awesome to watch. I ended up blaming it on my starts and moved on. I did really well on all of my midterm exams, though. They weren't too tough and I didn't need to study much. At the Harvard meet our 4X400 team (Same as our sprint medley team with Nick Oram as a sub for Colton Burne) qualified for the Emerging Elite National meet as well.

I'm also making progress with my starts. I don't know what happened, but something kicked in and I am taking very quick and more powerful steps out of the blocks so I am excited to see what I can do this Friday with some quicker steps and faster acceleration. Hopefully my 55m can get back down cause I have been on the higher end of 6 seconds for too long! :) I'm also practicing long jump again and I think I've taken care of my faulting problem (I hope) which I think was caused by laziness at the board instead of making my strides quicker. The other day I four step approached (four right steps, 8 steps in all if you count each foot) 20 feet and that gave me a lot of optimism for the rest of the season. The work outs lately have been pretty intense and seem to be focusing on endurance. The other day we ran repeat 500s and before that we did some quick repeat 200s with very small breaks. I sorta like it though. Something about the feeling of exhaustion is nice. I mean, it stinks while it is happening, but after the workout is finished, I feel awesome. I know we are down to our last couple of regular but I am excited to see what I can do and what our team can do! See you later!
