#6 ranked Ellsworth surged to the top of the rankings after competing in the Caribou Invitational on Saturday behind Dan Curts 15:48, while freshman Cooper Holmes is rapidly improving (17:34). The Eagles who are missing two key runners have been impressive early on this fall. #1 ranked Scarborough is the 2nd ranked team, they lost to unranked Massabesic last week, but were missing Robert Hall who had to drop out because of a turned ankle. Massabesic coming off the impressive win over Scarborough are the #3 ranked team over 5k early on this season

#5 ranked Cape Elizabeth showed they are one of the top teams with an impressive performance on their home course as they averaged 16:57.88 with just a 58 second split for runners 1-5. #3 ranked Bangor still holds down the #2 spot with a 17:27 average. #2 ranked Lewiston is the 3rd ranked team over 3 miles, they actually beat #3 Bangor last week on their home course, this without top runner Mohamed Barre being able to finish the race. #7 ranked Bonny Eagle has the 3rd best team over 5k, the Scots continue to impress.

Girls 5k   

#2 ranked Camden Hills holds down the top spot for 5k, they ran on the state meet course at Belfast average 21:01 for runners 1-5, this without ALL-NE runner Willow Parker who is still recovering from injuries. The Windjammers showed they are a deep team that has plenty of talent. #1 ranked MDI won the Caribou Invitational, the Trojans the defending champions have been impressive this fall, they have a 21:05 average, and Maggie Painter has shown she can run with the states best this fall making MDI even more dangerous with a front-runner.
