The SB Report: Girls XC Power Rankings Week #2

This fall at MaineTrackXC we will feature "The SB Report". "The SB Report" will feature power rankings of the top 10 girls & boys teams, as well as individuals in the state. The author of the blog Sam Bonsey, has contributed to MaineTrackXC in the past and we are glad we can share his thoughts on the 2012 XC season.  Bonsey is a former XC/track runner from Falmouth HS, and is currently a journalism student at the University of Maine. Check out his writing each week this fall.

<>1.MDI

Last Week: 1

Meet: Caribou Invitational

Place: 1st


MDI cruised to a victory at the Caribou Invitational as they placed four runners in the top ten. Leading the way for them was Maggie Painter who placed second running a time of 19:47.60. MDI heads to Orono on Friday where they should go unchallenged.

 

<>2.Massabesic

Last Week: 2

Meet: at Scarborough

Place: 1st


Jocelyn Acheson’s second place finish propelled Massabesic to the win at Scarborough on Friday. They also got strong runs from Gabrielle Johnson and Emily Wassina who both placed in the top six. Massabesic heads to Thornton Academy on Friday.

 

<>3.Bonny Eagle

Last Week: 5

Meet: Home vs Noble, Portland, TA

Place: 1st


Bonny Eagle dominated on their home course as they put five runners in the top ten. Mary Szatkowski led the way for them as she placed second running a time of 19:54. Bonny Eagle heads to Sanford on Friday.

 

<>4.Camden Hills

Last Week: 3

Meet: at Belfast

Place: 1st
 


Camden Hills put on a dominating performance at Belfast as they cruised to a perfect score behind Brittany Bowman’s first place finish. They did all of this even without their number two runner Willow Parker. The Windjammers race at Medomak Valley on Friday.

 

 
 
<>5.Greely

Last Week: 4

Meet: Home vs. NYA, York, Poland

Place: 1st

The Rangers took advantage of their home course as they cruised to an easy win over NYA, York and Poland. Eva Bates led the charge for them as she took home the victory running a time of 20:30. Greely races at Wells on Friday.
