The SB Report: Girls XC Power Rankings Week #3

This fall at MaineTrackXC we will feature "The SB Report". "The SB Report" will feature power rankings of the top 10 girls & boys teams, as well as individuals in the state. The author of the blog Sam Bonsey, has contributed to MaineTrackXC in the past and we are glad we can share his thoughts on the 2012 XC season.  Bonsey is a former XC/track runner from Falmouth HS, and is currently a journalism student at the University of Maine. Check out his writing each week this fall.

<>1.MDI

Last Week: 1

Meet: at Orono

Place: 1st


MDI cruised to another easy victory at Orono as they placed their top five in the top six overall. Maggie Painter was their top finisher as she placed second overall covering the 2.76 mile course in 19:10.92. Look for MDI to win the Sectional Invitational in Old Town this Saturday.

 

<>2.Masssabesic

Last Week: 2

Meet: at Thornton Academy

Place: 1st


Massabesic took home another victory behind Jocelyn Acheson’s second place finish. Massabesic has a tough test on Friday when they face off against Bonny Eagle and Cheverus.

 

<>3.Bonny Eagle

Last Week: 3

Meet: at Sanford

Place: ?


Results from the Sanford met have yet to be shown, but that shouldn’t effect Bonny Eagle’s ranking for the time being. They will face their biggest challenge yet this Friday when they race against Cheverus.

 

<>4.Camden Hills

Last Week: 4

Meet: at Medomak

Place: 1st


Camden Hills looked very impressive in their win at Medomak Valley as they placed six runners in the top ten. Leading the way for them was Brittany Bowman who placed second running a time of 20:39.65. Camden heads to Cony on Friday.

 

<>5.Greely

Last Week: 5

Meet: at Wells

Place: 1st


The Rangers looked dominant in their win at Wells as they were paced by Kirstin Sandrueter who took home the victory running 19:04. Look for Greely to be very competitive at the Manchester Invitational on Saturday.
