This fall at MaineTrackXC we will feature "The SB Report". "The SB Report" will feature power rankings of the top 10 girls & boys teams, as well as individuals in the state. The author of the blog Sam Bonsey, has contributed to MaineTrackXC in the past and we are glad we can share his thoughts on the 2012 XC season. Bonsey is a former XC/track runner from Falmouth HS, and is currently a journalism student at the University of Maine. Check out his writing each week this fall.

Curts proved on Saturday he is one of the best runners in New England. He outkicked Silas Eastman to take home the victory in the Small School race running a time of 15:42. Curts will be the favorite to win the Festival of Champions on Saturday, and perhaps make a run at Will Geoghegan’s course record.
Don’t expect the loss to Curts to faze Eastman. He’s one of the finest runners the WMC has seen since Ben True. Look for him to dominate at Lake Region on Friday.
Pierce ran a great race on Saturday as we saw him place fourth running a lifetime best of 16:09. Look for Pierce to contend for a top three finish at FOC.
Holt-Andrews picked up another victory last week as he won the MVC Preview running a fine time of 17:13. Look for Holt-Andrews to contend for a top three finish at FOC.
Nadeau outdistanced himself from a big Scarborough pack as he ran 16:55 on the tough Smiling Hill Farm’s course. Look for Nadeau to contend for a top five finish at FOC.
