This fall at MaineTrackXC we will feature "The SB Report". "The SB Report" will feature power rankings of the top 10 girls & boys teams, as well as individuals in the state. The author of the blog Sam Bonsey, has contributed to MaineTrackXC in the past and we are glad we can share his thoughts on the 2012 XC season. Bonsey is a former XC/track runner from Falmouth HS, and is currently a journalism student at the University of Maine. Check out his writing each week this fall.

The Yachtsmen cruised to another easy victory on their home course last Friday as Bryce Murdick led the way capturing the victory in 17:19. Falmouth had five runners run under 18:00 which is very impressive given the tough Community Park course. They look like the early favorite at the Festival of Champions.
Like the Yachtsmen, Scarborough cruised on their home course with five runners breaking the 18 minute barrier. Smiling Hill Farms is one of the tougher courses in the state. Robby Hall led the way for the Red Storm as he placed second overall. Look for them to contend for the win at the Festival of Champions.
Lewiston had a nice tune up before FOC as they cruised to an easy victory at Oxford Hills. They placed seven runners in the top ten overall. Expect Lewiston to contend for the win at the Festival of Champions.
Ellsworth was the top Maine team in the Small School race as they were led by Dan Curts who won running a ridiculous time of 15:42. Expect Ellsworth to contend for a top finish at FOC.
Cape Elizabeth dominated the field at GNG as their duo of Peter Doane and Liam Simpson took the top two spots respectively. Look for Cape to contend for a top five finish at FOC.
