The SB Report: Boys Individual XC Power Rankings Week #5

This fall at MaineTrackXC we will feature "The SB Report". "The SB Report" will feature power rankings of the top 10 girls & boys teams, as well as individuals in the state. The author of the blog Sam Bonsey, has contributed to MaineTrackXC in the past and we are glad we can share his thoughts on the 2012 XC season.  Bonsey is a former XC/track runner from Falmouth HS, and is currently a journalism student at the University of Maine. Check out his writing each week this fall.

  1. Dan Curts Ellsworth

    Last Week: 1
    Meet: FOC
    Place: DNC
    Time: N/A
Curts opted not to run on Saturday due to illness. Let's hope he gets well soon as he continues his dominant season at the Hancock County Championships this Saturday.

2. Silas Eastman Fryeburg

Last Week: 2
Meet: Manchester Invitational
Place: 2nd
Time: 15:42
Results from the Lake Region meet haven't been posted yet, but I think we can assume Eastman took home the victory in dominating fashion. Look for him to challenge the course record of 16:08.5 at Falmouth next week at the WMC Championships.

3. Josef Holt Andrews Telstar

Last Week: 4
Meet: FOC
Place: 3rd
Time: 15:59.89
Holt-Andrews ran a fantastic race at FOC as he was the first Mainer to cross in 15:59.89. He will face off against Jack Pierce again at the Western Maine Championships in a few weeks.

4. Jack Pierce Merriconeag
Last Week: 3
Meet: FOC
Place: 4th
Time: 16:14.27
Pierce ran a great race at FOC as he stopped the clock at 16:14.27. Look for Pierce to claim victory at NYA this Friday.

5. Jonathan Stanhope Bangor
Last Week: 6
Meet: FOC
Place: 5th
Time: 16:24.55
Stanhope was the first Class A runner to cross the finish line on Saturday as he ran a new personal best of 16:24.55. Look for Stanhope to contend for the win at the Mt. Blue Relays on Friday.
