The SB Report: Boys XC Power Rankings Week #6

This fall at MaineTrackXC we will feature "The SB Report". "The SB Report" will feature power rankings of the top 10 girls & boys teams, as well as individuals in the state. The author of the blog Sam Bonsey, has contributed to MaineTrackXC in the past and we are glad we can share his thoughts on the 2012 XC season.  Bonsey is a former XC/track runner from Falmouth HS, and is currently a journalism student at the University of Maine. Check out his writing each week this fall.

 

Boys XC Team Power Rankings: Week 6

1. Lewiston

Last Week: 1
Meet: Lewiston Under the Lights
Place: 1st
Lewiston had their annual mile under the lights meet last week at Mohamed Barre and Mohamed Mohamed both clocked under 4:40. Look for Lewiston to win the KVAC Championships on Saturday.
 
 
 
2. Falmouth
Last Week: 2
Meet: at Greely
Place: 1st
Falmouth placed first at Greely as their trio of Josh Simenski, Bryce Murdick and Jay Lesser all placed in the top six. Falmouth is the early favorite to win the WMC Championships.
 
 
 
3. Scarborough
Last Week: 3
Meet: at Scarborough
Place: 1st
The Red Storm won easily on their home course as their top four took the top four spots overall. Jack Sullivan was the individual winner. Look for Scarborough to win easily at Gorham on Friday.
 
 
 
4. Cape Elizabeth
Last Week: 4
Meet: at Greely
Place: 3rd
The Capers were without Liam Simpson and Peter Doane as they placed third at Greely. With them at full strength, look for them to contend for the win at the WMC Championships.
 
 
5.Ellsworth
Last Week: 5
Meet: Hancock County Championships
Place: 1st
Ellsworth took home the Hancock County Championships behind Dan Curts' first place finish. They are the heavy favorite to win the PVC Championships this Saturday.
