Individual Preview
All of the top individuals sqaured off at the KVAC Championship last week where Mt. Blue's Justin Tracy took the top spot inches in front of Lewiston's Mohamed Barre. At the Festival of Champions Barre finished in front of Tracy, so this will be another battle between the two.
Bangor's Jonathan Stanhope had an off day at the KVAC Championship meet as he was 9th in the Class A meet. The course at Belfast was the site of Stanhope's Class A leading 16:24 earlier this season at FOC. Don't count him he'll be looking for redemption this week.
Mt. Ararat's Sam Wood has had a strong fall & he proved he's ready for the championship season with a strong 3rd place finish at the KVAC's. Wood ran with the eventual winners until the last 1/4 of mile.
Lewiston has 3 others than should contend for a top ten finish. Mohamed Awil was the #2 runner for the Blue Devils last week finishing 4th in the KVAC's. Teammates Isaiah Harris & Mohamed Mohamed were 6th & 7th last week, and both ran under 17 on the Belfast course this year at FOC.
Mt Blue's Josh Horne 5th a week ago will look to at least duplicate that effort this week. EL's Lucas Borget was 9th at the KVAC's, he has run a best of 17:00 this fall
Hampden's duo of Caleb Lord & Nick Kopf both have a shot at a top 10 finish. Lord was 8th a week ago at the KVAC meet, while Kopf finished 11th.
Team Outlook
The Lewiston Blue Devils have run undefeated against Maine teams this fall. The Blue Devils are coming off a dominating performance at the KVAC meet as they had 4 of the top 7 finishers in the Class A race. They finished 35 points ahead of the runner-up Mt. Blue.
The Cougars had a strong day at the KVAC meet as they finally got by Bangor 82-88. The two teams will fight it out again this week for the hardware. The Rams had a slightly off day last week, don't expect it to happen again.
Mt Ararat was 4th last week, they have an outside shot at a top 3 run if everything goes well for the Eagles. Hampden Academy looks to be a top 5 team as well.

Girls
Individual Preview
Defending champion Erzsebet Nagy of Lawrence is the heavy favorite to repeat as EMR champion. Nagy was the winner of the Class A KVAC last week did so by finishing 1:26 ahead of the runner-up. Expect her to set the pace and have everyone else follow this weekend
The runner-up spot is up for grabs. Last week's Brunswick freshman Tessa Cassidy made her statement by finishing as the KVAC A runner-up.
The Hampden duo of senior Kylee Parker & sophomore Elizabeth Labun have a shot for a top 3 finish. Labun had her best race of the season last week at the KVAC meet as she was 3rd. Parker finished in 4th giving the Broncos a strong 1-2 punch. Kylee enters the meet with the #2 seed time from her race at FOC where she was the #2 Class A east runner.
Mt Ararat counters with their own duo of Kelly Lynch & Olivia Swan, Swan edged her teammate last week as they went 5th & 6th at the KVAC Champs. Look for the Eagles to have a little mor epop in their legs this week with a little more rest.
Brunswick has two more with a shot at a top ten finish with freshman Tiffany Tanner & Tersea Murphy. Murphy was 7th a week ago while tanner was 9th. Tanner has the 4th fastest time of anyone in the field (20:14) this fall
Messalonskee's Olivia Poulin is peaking at the right time, last week she finished 8th in the KVAC race.
Alos watch for Lewiston's Faith Shaw who nabbed a 10th place last week, she has the 26th fastest 5k time this year, so clearly she stepped it up last week if she does it again a top 10 finish is likely.
Team Outlook
Last week's KVAC meet was a preview of what we can expect this weekend. The team title is up for grabs with 3 teams with real chance to capture the first place trophy.
Mt. Ararat enters as they favorite as they took the KVAC Championship by 4 points over the Dragons of Brunswick last week. Brunswick has 3 girls with a shot at the 5, while Ararat has 2 girls with top 5 potential plus a quality pack This could come down to the 5th runner where Ararat had the edge last week.
Don't sleep on Hampden Academy. The Broncos were missing their #5 runner last week add her in and the meet is even tighter. The Broncos have the strong duo of Parker & Labun up front which ensures they some low stick #'s.
Mt. Blue & Bangor look to finish in the top 5.
