There were several top performances at the WMC meet @ Greely on Thursday. Headlining the meet on the girls side was a Class B leader in the 1600 by Kendra Lobely (Poland) who set a personal best of 5:10.4 in winning the event. On the boys side standout thrower Michael Burgess (Greely) threw a Class B leading 148-8 in the discus, and then added a win in the SP (52-2). To check out the rest of the action click the headline. The WMC(Western Maine Conference) All-Conference Teams have been announced, check out who excelled during the 2010-2011 indoor season.

Carley O'Brien was on top of the world. The Traip Academy long-jumper had just leapt 17 feet, 6 inches — longer than any girl in the history of Maine Class B indoor track and longer than even she dreamed was possible at the start of the day. The crowd around the pit at Bates College was buzzing. People were congratulating her on a title and personal record. But O'Brien felt it. She knew. And now all she could do was wait. The Waterville girls took the girls Class B state title holding off a strong challenge from the runner-up Greely. The Purple Panthers scored 80 points to the Rangers 73.5. For Waterville they were paced by double winner Bethanie Brown (mile & 2mile)& Olivia Thurston (400m- new state record) plus a meet capping 4x200m relay win, while the Falmouth Boys dominated the field scoring 91 points to outdistance runner-up Waterville (68) by 23 points. The Yachtsmen got wins from Reid Pryzant (Hurdles & LJ), Will Wegener (400m & 200m) & the 4x200m relay.  FULL RESULTS | RACE VIDEOS
