Bangor sweeps EMITL, Gray & Jackson set league records Derek Veilleux Feb 11, 2012

The Bangor girls dominated the EMITL Championship scoring 150 points, Old Town & Hermon tied for 2nd with 49. On the boys side the Rams tallied 122 with Hampden Academy the runner-up with 75.5. Two league records were broken, Teal Jackson of Brewer shattered the 200m record 25.87, while Tiffany Gray of Bangor broke her own Long jump mark by 1/4" with a jump of 17-5. Check out more action.

EMITL Championship Preview Derek Veilleux Feb 8, 2012

The University of Maine fieldhourse will be busy with Saturday afternoon when the EMITL championship meet kicks off at 3:45. Several of the top athletes in the state will be competing with the hopes of running, jumping, throwing their way to a championship. The Bangor girls have been impressive all season, & afre the favorites to win their 3rd straight EMITL title. On the boys side it should be a good matchup between defending champion Hampden Academy & Bangor. Bangor will rely on their distance runners, while Hampden's stregnth is in the sprints/hurdles/jumps.
