Lisbon reigns supreme in MVC Championship-capture Boys/Girls titles Derek Veilleux May 28, 2009

The Greyhounds captured the Boys & Girls MVC Track & Field titles this afternoon. The girls team tallied 143 to outdistane runner-up Hall-Dale by 53 points. Sophmore Tara Metzger led the way winning the triple jump (30-4.75), long jump (15-4), 200m (29.27) & running on the 2n place 4x100 team. The Greyhounds also received a boost from senior standout Rebehak Sullivan, who won the High jump (4-8), Shot Put (32-5), runner-up in the Discus (100-2). Hall-Dale's Ariel Howes was the only other double winner taking both hurdle races. On the boys side of the meet, Lisbon used it's depth to dominate the rest of the field, scoring 181 points, runner-up Hall-Dale scored 83.5. The Greyhounds depth prevailed as they scored in every event. Thrower Joe Doughty led the charge with two wins, shot put (40-0) & discus (112-08). Other winners for Lisbon were freshman Morgan Reeves in the triple jump (39-9.5), Cam Bubar in the 800m (2:06.41) & the 4x100 squad who ran a blazing 45.69. Individually Hall-Dale senior distance standout Wade Davis put on a show, winning the 1600 in 4:31.66, 17 seconds ahead of 2nd place, in the 3200, Davis clocked 9:50.68, good for 35 second sbetter than 2nd place. Wiscasset's Brandon Campbell clocked some fine times in winning the 300 hurdles (41.01) and the 200m (23.26). Telstar's Frankie DelDuca won the 400m (51.60) & long jump (19-11) Full Results
