Ladd & Mace open season with wins at Laliberte Invitational

Messalonskee's Harlow Ladd opened his season with a win in the Laliberte Invitaional, clocking 13:43. On the girls side Abby Mace (Maranacook) won her 3rd straight Laliberte girls race, winning by over a minute in 15:43. The race was shorten this year to 2.4 miles due to some construction. The team results combined both boys and girls, Mt Ararat took the team title followed by KVAC rivals Brunswick and Mt Blue. RESULTS | PHOTOS

AUGUSTA -- Scott Wilson, the Messalonskee High School track and field coach, was driving earlier this summer when he came upon a runner. At first glance, Wilson thought the runner was a college athlete, out pushing himself on a hot day. As Wilson drove past, he got a good look at the runner.(via www.kjonline.com)

When the final results of the Scot Laliberte Invitational cross country meet are posted this afternoon, take note. There's a good chance you'll see many of the same names at the top of the results of the state championship meets later this fall. (via www.onlinesentinel.com)
