CAMDEN HILLS GIRLS/MARANACOOK BOYS TOPS IN KVAC B Oct 16, 2011

  The Camden Hills girls took 3 of the first 5 places in roaring to a 40 point win in KVAC Class B cross-country action today.  Waterville edged Winslow 77-81 to take second place.    For the B boys, Maranacook placed all of their top 5 in the first 20 spots for a comfortable win.  Places 2-4 were taken by Medomak Valley, Lincoln Academy and Waterville.  A single point separated each team.    Waterville's Bethanie Brown captured the girls title followed by the Camden Hills duo of Brittany Bowman and Willow Parker.  On the boys side, Winslow's Nickolas Shuckrow took home the individual title followed by Maranacook's Kelby Mace and Ben Trapani of Camden Hills.

ARARAT BOYS/BRUNSWICK GIRLS PULL UPSETS IN KVAC A Oct 16, 2011

An outstanding race from Sam Wood (11th) and steady performances from the rest of the team enabled Mt. Ararat to pull off a surprise victory in KVAC Class A boys action today.  The Eagles emerged with an 80-89 edge over Bangor.  Lewiston placed 3rd.On the girls side, Brunswick used a strong 1-5 pack to edge Mt. Ararat by single point 42-43.  Mt. Blue took 3rd place.    Individual races were won by Harlow Ladd of Messalonskee and Erzebet Nagy of Lawrence.  Brunswick's Benson Worthington put on a late charge to overtake Andy Reifman-Packett of Mt. Ararat for 2nd place.  On the girls side Teresa Murphy of Brunswick and Kelly Lynch Of Mt. Ararat took 2nd and 3rd.
