Maine Running Company Performances of the Week
Gorham junior Laura Turner was selected for her state leading and personal best 7:54.64 in the 1600m racewalk. Turner received 32 of the 98 votes cast. Turner's time was 10 seconds faster than her previous best of the season, and won her the Cumberland County title. Currently Turner is 30 seconds faster than the next best racewalker in the state and ranks 6th natioanlly. She's the favorite to win the SMAA and Class A state titles.
Brunswick senior Jamie Ross ran a personal best 1:56.29 in the 800m last week, for his efforts he was selected as the "Performance of the week". Ross's time is the top time in Class A, and ranks him #2 statewide. The 1:56.29, improved on his 1:58.25 personal best from the Class A Indoor state championship. Entering the championship meets Jamie will be one to watch in the 800m
