State titles up for grabs

Class B

The Waterville Panthers are the favorites to win a third consecutive and 7th Class B title in the last decade. The Panthers have a lot of quality that will be hard to beat. Senior Sarah Shoulta enters the meet the top seed in the 100m & 300m plus the pole vault. Shoulta is the defending champion in all three events. Junior distance runner Lauren Brown holds the top spots in the 1600 & 3200m while high jumper Alison Liscott (5-2) is the top seeded jumper. Senior Kellie Bolduc holds the top seed in the triple jump.

Hard to imagine this will be the last state meet for Lake Region senior Kate Hall, who will be the heavy favorite to win her 4th straight state titles in the 100m, 200m & long jump. Hall will look to reset the record books once again, she holds the 100m (11.81), 200m (24.36) & LJ (19-0 1/2).

Greely's Alyssa Coyne is the top seed in the shot put (40-4 1/4) & the discus (119-7). Coyne won the discus title a year ago.

On the boys side the York Wildcats are the team favorite with Belfast & Old Town the teams likely to put up the toughest challenge.

The Wildcats are paced by senior Tucker Corbett who is the top seed in both the 200 & 400. Hurdler Colt Santoro is the top seeded 110m hurdler with his 15.84 clocking while state all-time javelin record holder defending champion Jack Bouchard looks to be a lock for a repeat title, he'll be chasing the meet record of 192-9.

Belfast will be led by junior Drew Nealey who is the defending champion in the pole vault and state leader in the event this spring with a best of 14-6, the class B meet record is 14-6 3/4. Nealey is the #2 seed in triple jump & #3 seed in the 110m hurdles

Old Town's Nicolas Boutin is the defending champion in the 100 & 200 races, he is the top seed in the 100m (11.26) & the #3 seed in 200m (23.25)

Spruce Mountain's Samuel Brenner is the defending 1600m racewalk champion, and enters with the top seed of 7:03.63

Waterville's Trever Gray is the top seed in the shot & discus and will be seeking his first individual outdoor title, Gray was the discus runner-up last spring. Teammate Chris Cote is seeded #1 in both the 1600m (4:32.47) & 3200m (9:47.0).

Fryeburg's Victor Yang is the top seed in the high jump with a leap of 6-8.
